Field Agent by apmasphere is a mobile property inspection application built on iOS.
Field Agent walks you through the process of doing a property inspection, prompting you to take photographs of the property and tag each photograph with a description of what the photo is of, and issues that you see in it. You can then highlight any special features in the property such as a broken tap or items of work that needs to be attended to.
After taking your photos, you complete an inspection by flagging breaches and other follow ups, and then email your report direct to your landlord.
There’s a couple of special features in the application. The one we like best is the ‘overlay’ feature, that brings up photos from a previous inspection and lets you use them as an overlay, meaning you can take the same photo over and over again. It’s a great way to keep track of the condition of a property over the life of the tenancy.
The latest version of Field Agent includes an option to back data up to a dropbox account. Check out more on iTunes or visit our apmasphere forum to ask for help or questions or help.
Future versions of Field Agent will store data up in the ‘apmasphere cloud,’ so that information moves back and forth across the main agent application, the landlord portal and the iPhone. We use OAuth for security, and work with both the Google and Amazon clouds to give the application real punch.
We are working on designs for an iPad version that leverages the cameras in the iPad2. Given our other technologies already in place, we will also be building the app on Android.
